Federal agents have apprehended 17 individuals associated with the La Puente-based Puente-13 gang, targeting a wide array of criminal activities. The indictment charges 20 defendants with offenses spanning methamphetamine and fentanyl distribution, conspiracy to commit kidnapping, and illegal firearm sales, including machine guns. This operation is a significant blow to organized crime in the San Gabriel Valley.
During the extensive investigation, law enforcement successfully confiscated 71 firearms, 10 pounds of methamphetamine, and thousands of pills containing fentanyl and carfentanil. The gang allegedly employed violence to maintain territory and support the Mexican Mafia. Several specific violent incidents, including shootings and kidnappings, were detailed in court affidavits spanning from December 2022 to May 2025.
