8 Jan
Summary
- More than 150 neglected animals removed from a property today.
- Many animals lacked food, water, and adequate shelter from cold.
- Rescued animals included birds, goats, cows, pigs, sheep, rabbits, and a pony.

A significant animal rescue operation took place today in Hadley, resulting in the removal of over 150 neglected animals. These animals had been left to fend for themselves in the harsh winter conditions, lacking basic necessities like food and water.
MSPCA-Angell reported that the majority of the animals were birds, but the rescue also included goats, cows, pigs, sheep, rabbits, and a pony. Some wildlife, illegally kept as pets, were also found among the rescued animals.
Authorities intervened after attempts to address the neglect with the owner proved unsuccessful. The animals are now being cared for at MSPCA-Angell facilities while legal proceedings against the owner continue.
