Jay Conway, 33, received a 14-year prison sentence for aiming a loaded 9mm pistol at a police officer during a pursuit in Salford. The incident unfolded on May 20, 2025, when undercover officers observed Conway distributing drugs in Albert Park. After evading initial capture and discarding his electric bike, Conway was seen with a firearm during a chase involving PC Dan Clayton.
Conway refused to stop for PC Clayton, dropping Class A drugs as he was apprehended. As Conway fled again, PC Clayton deployed a Taser, causing Conway to fall. However, Conway then pointed the loaded firearm directly at the officer, who feared for his life. Conway dropped the weapon and was arrested the following day.
