Summary
- Dhanuka Agritech combats fake fertilizers, pesticides, and seeds
- Diversifying import sources and developing indigenous capacity to reduce reliance on China
- Leveraging traceability solutions and farmer awareness to ensure genuine products

As of August 21, 2025, Dhanuka Agritech, a leading Indian agrochemical company, is taking decisive steps to combat the widespread issue of counterfeit, duplicate, and adulterated agricultural inputs in the market. R.G. Agarwal, the Chairman Emeritus of Dhanuka Agritech, has highlighted this as a major challenge, as these fake fertilizers, pesticides, and seeds not only result in crop failures but also cause severe income losses, pushing farmers further into debt.
To address this problem, Dhanuka is implementing robust traceability solutions, where every product pack is marked with unique identification codes, allowing farmers to authenticate inputs instantly. The company is also diversifying its import sources and developing indigenous capacity for fertilizer manufacturing and rare earth processing to reduce reliance on a single country, such as China. Additionally, Dhanuka is collaborating with ICAR and KVKs to conduct awareness campaigns and training programs to educate farmers on the importance of purchasing genuine products.
Furthermore, Dhanuka is supporting the growth of MSMEs, farmers, and Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs) by providing quality crop protection solutions, advanced technologies, and agronomic expertise. The company's efforts have reached over 10 million farmers, helping them adopt high-yielding, cost-efficient, and eco-friendly practices for sustainable agriculture.
