Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer Zeekr has officially launched in the Italian market, commencing its operations on Thursday. This expansion into Italy is a strategic move for the brand, which is wholly owned by the prominent Geely Holding Group. Zeekr plans to begin delivering its range of four electric vehicle models and open its first retail stores during the spring season.
Zeekr Europe's acting CEO, Lothar Schupet, identified Italy as a crucial market for the brand's European growth strategy. He noted that the timing aligns with a substantial increase in demand for premium electric vehicles and ongoing investments in charging infrastructure across the country.
With cars priced between approximately 38,000 euros and 73,000 euros, Zeekr began its European presence in Germany in December. The company also currently operates in Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Belgium, and the Netherlands. Future plans include market entries into France, Britain, and Spain by 2026, further solidifying its international footprint.
