13 Aug
Summary
- Quarterly revenue surged 154% year-over-year to $54.6 million.
- Investment and project activity expanded, leading to increased operating expenses.
- Long-term agreements were secured for nuclear fuel supply chain development.

X-energy, Inc. experienced a dramatic 154% increase in second-quarter revenue, reaching $54.6 million compared to $21.5 million in the prior year. This surge is largely attributed to advancements in its Advanced Reactor Demonstration Program and the ongoing development of its Xe-100 reactor technology. Significant contributions came from services and grant income, particularly from the U.S. Department of Energy agreement.
Despite the strong revenue performance, X-energy's operating expenses also rose substantially, climbing 156% to $164.6 million. This reflects increased investment in technology development, operational capabilities, and preparations for commercial deployment of its nuclear platform. The company's CEO, J. Clay Sell, emphasized a focus on execution and scaling capabilities.
Furthermore, X-energy strengthened its nuclear fuel supply chain by entering long-term agreements for high-assay low-enriched uranium enrichment services with Centrus Energy Corp. and General Matter. Agreements were also made with SGL Carbon to boost manufacturing capacity for nuclear-grade graphite.
