- Woodman's ranked third among 81 U.S. grocers in a new study.
- The chain excels in pricing, promotions, and rewards programs.
- Regional competitors H-E-B and Market Basket ranked higher.

A recent retail study by Dunnhumby has identified Woodman's Markets as a top-tier U.S. grocery chain, ranking it third out of 81 evaluated grocers. This recognition highlights Woodman's strength in providing exceptional value through competitive pricing, effective promotions, and robust rewards programs. The employee-owned company, with its roots in Janesville, Wisconsin, operates around 20 locations spanning Wisconsin and the Chicago metropolitan area.
The annual study, which surveyed 11,000 shoppers and analyzed financial results, found that consumer confidence is waning due to inflation and job market concerns. Consequently, grocers that prioritize affordability and savings are resonating most with shoppers. Woodman's particularly impressed in the critical category of price, demonstrating its ability to offer significant savings compared to competitors.
H-E-B, a Texas-based retailer, claimed the first position for the fifth time in nine years, while Massachusetts' Market Basket secured the second spot. National chains like Costco and Aldi also appeared in the top five, underscoring the importance of value in the current economic climate. Woodman's strong performance validates its strategy of delivering low prices and quality to its customer base.
