Summary
- Plans for 109 new homes submitted to Walsall Council.
- Derelict industrial buildings to be replaced by modern housing.
- Community feedback overwhelmingly supported the proposed development.

A major redevelopment initiative in Willenhall's Locksmith Quarter is progressing, as developer Keepmoat has submitted plans to Walsall Council for 109 new homes. The application targets a 2.06-hectare site on Moat Street, Cemetery Road, Villiers Street, and New Hall Street, aiming to replace largely dilapidated industrial structures.
The proposed development includes a mix of housing types: 33 two-bedroom homes, 57 three-bedroom homes, and 19 four-bedroom homes, with each residence allocated two parking spaces. The plans have been divided into five parcels, addressing various areas including vacant, fire-damaged industrial premises and a locally listed building on Moat Street. While the locally listed structure cannot be retained, its characteristics will be reinterpreted in the new homes.
