Western Sydney Airport: 45 Mins to CBD!

Western Sydney International (Nancy-Bird Walton) Airport (WSI) is poised for opening with significant infrastructure upgrades. Billions have been invested by state and federal governments to enhance local road networks, ensuring maximum connectivity. The new, toll-free M12 motorway, alongside a widened M7 interchange, means 65% of Sydney's population can now drive to the airport in 45 minutes.

Travelers will experience an intersection-free, 100km/h journey on the 16km M12 section, connecting Elizabeth Drive to The Northern Road. This route is expected to handle 25,000 vehicles daily and offers a 45-minute trip to Sydney and Parramatta CBDs without traffic lights. The airport also provides up to 6,000 car spaces.

WSI will offer diverse transport options beyond private vehicles. Express electric bus services by Super Shuttle WSI will connect to Parramatta and Central Sydney, with tickets anticipated to go on sale in August. Additionally, new bus links, including electric buses with luggage racks, will serve areas like Penrith, Liverpool, and Campbelltown starting in July, operating seven days a week.

For those relying on public transport, free half-hourly shuttle buses will run between St Mary's and WSI from 4:30 am to midnight, phasing out when the Metro opens. The Metro rail link, expected to begin operations early in the airport's life, will connect WSI to key locations including St Marys and Bradfield, with forecasts predicting significant passenger capacity.

Super Shuttle WSI, operated by NSBC Group, will provide shuttle services to Parramatta CBD, Sydney CBD, and Sydney Airport using an electric, low-floor bus fleet. These shuttles will align with flight schedules, aiming for regular half-hourly services. Ticket pricing will be positioned between ride-sharing services and public transport, offering a convenient and affordable option for a significant journey.
