Walmart and Sam's Club are set to introduce 'tap to pay' technology, offering customers a new, familiar payment option. This contactless feature will start appearing in select stores on August 24th. The company plans a full rollout across all U.S. locations by the end of 2026, extending the convenience to gas stations by mid-2027.
Customers will be able to use their eligible contactless cards, phones, or smartwatches for quicker checkouts. Additionally, users can add their Walmart, Sam's Club, or OnePay cards to digital wallets for added flexibility. Sam's Club members will also continue to benefit from the Scan & Go service, allowing them to pay as they shop and bypass traditional queues.
