- The EX60 is Volvo's all-electric successor to the XC60.

Volvo Cars is set to launch its new electric mid-sized SUV, the EX60, later this month, boasting an impressive driving range of up to 810 kilometers (503 miles) on a single charge. This initiative directly addresses consumer concerns about range anxiety, a significant barrier to electric vehicle adoption globally. The EX60's all-wheel-drive variant is designed to exceed the typical range of its mid-sized electric SUV competitors.
The EX60 is engineered for convenience, featuring rapid charging capabilities that can add approximately 340 km of range in just 10 minutes under optimal conditions. This feature aims to make long journeys more practical by allowing for quick top-ups during short stops. The vehicle is built on Volvo's dedicated electric-only platform and is the electric successor to the company's best-selling XC60 combustion engine model.
Despite previous challenges with software glitches and supply chain issues affecting models like the EX30 and EX90, Volvo is pushing forward with its electrification strategy. The company is planning a recall for certain EX30 models to address potential overheating risks. Full pricing and specifications for the EX60 will be unveiled on January 21.
