Thomas Ingenlath is set to rejoin Volvo Cars, assuming the role of chief design officer beginning February 1. This strategic appointment brings a familiar face back to the Sweden-based automotive group.
Ingenlath's tenure at Volvo Cars is extensive, previously serving as senior vice president for design. More recently, he led the electric vehicle manufacturer Polestar, also controlled by Geely Holding, before departing in 2024. His return is anticipated to invigorate the company's design initiatives.
His arrival fills the vacancy left by Jeremy Offer in July 2025, with Nick Groenenthal having acted as interim chief design officer. Ingenlath's deep understanding of Volvo's design language is expected to shape the brand's future aesthetic direction.
