US-Bangladesh Pact: Tariffs Cut for Textile Access
10 Feb
Summary
- US to eliminate tariffs on specific Bangladeshi textile volumes.
- Bangladesh to lower tariffs across chemicals, cars, and energy.
- Deal aims for greater market access for US goods in Bangladesh.

The United States and Bangladesh have finalized a significant trade agreement, set to take effect on Monday, February 10, 2026. This pact introduces tariff reductions on textile and apparel goods imported from Bangladesh into the U.S. The specific volume of these tariff-free goods will be determined by the Trump administration, contingent on Bangladesh's import of U.S. cotton and other fibers.
In exchange for these tariff concessions, Bangladesh has committed to enhancing market access for U.S. goods. The agreement includes a reduction in the U.S. reciprocal tariff on most Bangladeshi products from 20% to 19%. Furthermore, Bangladesh will lower tariffs and streamline regulations in key sectors such as chemicals, medical devices, automobiles, and energy.
