- UPI payments in Cambodia are enabled via KHQR.
- A two-way payment corridor between India and Cambodia is planned.

Indian travellers can now make payments in Cambodia using their UPI-enabled apps, thanks to a new partnership. This initiative allows users to scan Cambodia's national QR code system, KHQR, at over 4.5 million merchant outlets. Real-time payments can be made directly through UPI applications, simplifying transactions for visitors.
The project is being implemented in phases. The initial phase enables Indian travellers to pay in Cambodia, while a subsequent phase will permit Cambodian visitors to make payments in India via UPI QR codes. This development aims to establish a fully interoperable digital payment corridor between the two nations.
This collaboration between NPCI International and ACLEDA Bank is expected to offer a secure and seamless payment experience for Indian tourists. It will also benefit Cambodian merchants by providing access to a larger consumer base. The initiative is anticipated to reduce the need for physical currency and foster stronger economic ties.
Officials from the National Bank of Cambodia and the Reserve Bank of India attended the formal launch ceremony in Phnom Penh. This move signifies a major step in extending India's digital payment innovations to global markets.
