Theme Park Revenue Misses Mark Amid Visitor Dip
4 Aug
Summary
- Revenue declined 1.4% year-on-year to $483.3 million.
- GAAP earnings per share missed estimates by 22.7%.
- A shift in Easter timing and fewer international visitors impacted results.

United Parks & Resorts (PRKS) reported Q2 CY2026 results that missed market revenue and earnings expectations. The theme park operator's revenue declined by 1.4% year-on-year, reaching $483.3 million, while its GAAP earnings per share of $1.34 were 22.7% below analysts' consensus estimates.
The company attributed the shortfall to external factors, including the earlier timing of the Easter holiday which reduced the number of holiday days in the second quarter compared to the previous year. Additionally, a continued decline in international visitation contributed to the weaker performance.
Despite the revenue and earnings miss, Adjusted EBITDA was in line with analyst expectations. The company noted that adjusting for the Easter shift and international visitation trends, attendance would have been flat for the quarter. Over the past five years, United Parks & Resorts had shown a strong annual sales growth rate of 13.6%, but has seen revenue decline by 2.5% annually over the last two years.
