UK and India Forge Landmark Production Pact to Boost Creative Collaborations

In a move to strengthen creative ties between the UK and India, the Producers Guild of India and the UK's trade body Pact have signed a Memorandum of Understanding. The agreement, signed last month, is designed to foster closer collaboration between the two countries' production sectors.
The MoU outlines plans to facilitate the exchange of best practices, projects and ideas across both territories. This includes sharing market intelligence, tax credit information, and details on relevant industry organizations and co-production frameworks. Both nations have also pledged to launch educational initiatives showcasing their respective production capabilities.
The partnership builds on a cultural cooperation pact signed by the UK Minister for Culture, Media and Sport in May. Industry leaders are optimistic about the potential for increased exports and co-productions between the longtime allies. As Pact's head of international and projects, Ross Lewis, notes, "with our shared history such a rich source of inspiring stories, it feels that the time is right to do all we can to bring together our two world-leading production sectors for even more successful collaborations."
