Uber has officially launched Uber Direct, marking its entry into the business-to-business logistics market, with the support of ONDC. This service operates discreetly as a logistics solution for enterprises, handling deliveries originating from a seller's app or website. Businesses can now integrate Uber Direct to manage their delivery needs seamlessly.
Alongside this new logistics offering, Uber has introduced metro ticketing within its app for Bengaluru commuters. This feature, also powered by ONDC, allows users to purchase QR-based tickets for the Bangalore Metro. The service uses UPI for exclusive payment and provides real-time information for commuters.
Uber Direct is initially supporting grocery deliveries for brands like Zepto and KPN Farm Fresh. The company plans to rapidly expand its food delivery capabilities within weeks, catering to major international chains such as KFC and Burger King, as well as local entities like Rebel Foods. Uber sees Bengaluru as a key hub for these ONDC integrations.
