TSA Ditches Gold+ for Partnership Program

The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) announced this week that it is sunsetting its TSA Gold+ private security program. This program allowed airports to contract private companies for security screening operations.
Instead, the TSA will bolster its existing Screening Partnership Program (SPP). This expansion aligns with the agency's Horizon 25 Strategy, which focuses on modernizing security checkpoints and improving the traveler experience.
The SPP currently includes 20 airports that outsource screening services to private firms under TSA's supervision. Notable participants include Kansas City International Airport, Orlando Sanford International Airport, and San Francisco International Airport.
