27 Feb
Summary
- Triumph India to launch new 350cc bikes in April 2026.
- New engine derived from 400cc unit, aims for affordability.
- Lower GST slab for sub-350cc bikes is a key strategy.

Triumph Motorcycles India will introduce its new 350cc motorcycles in April 2026, according to Bajaj Auto's Managing Director. This launch signifies Triumph's strategy to offer more accessible and competitively priced bikes in the Indian market.
The upcoming 350cc engine is expected to be derived from the current 400cc unit, with modifications to reduce displacement. This approach allows Triumph to take advantage of a lower GST slab, as motorcycles under 350cc attract 18% GST compared to the 40% on those exceeding 350cc.
This move is poised to bolster Triumph's position in the highly sought-after sub-400cc segment in India. While production for export markets will continue, the focus for India-made models shifts to optimizing performance and pricing.
The anticipated reduction in peak output from the new 350cc engine is estimated to be 3-5 hp compared to the current 40 hp of the 399cc engine. All engines will be paired with a 6-speed gearbox.
