Transformer Giant Secures Massive MEIL Order

Transformers & Rectifiers (India) announced on Saturday, August 29, that it has received a significant purchase order from Megha Engineering and Infrastructures (MEIL).
The order, classified internally as 'large' and estimated between ₹100 crore and ₹500 crore excluding GST, involves the manufacture of transformers and related work. Execution and delivery are scheduled to span approximately three years, concluding within the next 35 months.
This recent acquisition bolsters an already robust order book, which stood at ₹6,630 crore at the close of Q1 FY27, an increase from ₹5,005 crore at the end of FY26. Power transformers constitute the largest segment of this backlog at 80%.
The company also recently secured a Letter of Intent from Transmission Corporation of Andhra Pradesh for a project in the ₹100 crore to ₹500 crore range, with delivery expected over 13 months.
