This nine-member SIT will examine five critical aspects over 30 days. These include the initial land status and transfer, conversion from Class II to Class I land, the validity of land records, subsequent sale transactions, and recommendations for action against any responsible parties.
Premier Automobiles faced financial difficulties over the years, ceasing production of the Premier Padmini in 1997 and eventually filing for bankruptcy in 2018. This led to the monetization of its land holdings, with significant portions acquired by prominent developers.
The SIT's formation over six decades after the original land transfer signifies a renewed effort to ensure transparency and accountability in government land dealings. A detailed report with findings and recommendations is expected within 30 days.
