Tata Steel announced a robust financial performance for the September quarter, with net profit attributable to owners rising by 18% to ₹3,660 crore compared to the same period last year. This growth was fueled by improved market realizations, leading to a 12% increase in revenue to ₹64,974 crore. The company's Earnings Before Interest, Taxes, Depreciation, and Amortization (EBITDA) also saw a healthy rise, reaching ₹10,665 crore.
Significant capital expenditure is being deployed on ongoing projects, including a 4.8 million tonnes per annum (MTPA) capacity expansion at Neelachal Ispat Nigam Limited (NINL) and downstream initiatives like a Hot Rolled Pickling and Galvanising Line. The amalgamation of NINL with Tata Steel is progressing, awaiting final National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) approval. Gross debt stood at ₹1.02 lakh crore, with net debt at ₹91,423 crore.
In operational updates, the Netherlands operations benefited from the restart of the Direct Sheet Plant, improving product mix and cost efficiency. In the UK, while market conditions remain challenging due to elevated imports and inventory build-up, the Llanwern pickle line is now fully operational. Noel Naval Tata will retire as Non-Executive, Non-Independent Director and Vice Chairman on November 11, 2026.
