Tata Motors Q4: Revenue Jumps, But Full-Year Sees Loss
14 May
Summary
- Q4 FY26 revenue increased 7.2% year-on-year due to JLR production recovery.
- Full-year FY26 saw consolidated revenue decline 8.3% with a pre-tax loss.
- Domestic passenger vehicle business reported record sales and strong EV growth.

Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Limited (TMPVL) announced a consolidated revenue of ₹1,05,447 crore for the fourth quarter of FY26, a 7.2% increase from the previous year. This growth was bolstered by a recovery in Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) production and record domestic sales volumes.
However, the full fiscal year FY26 concluded with a consolidated revenue decline of 8.3% to ₹3,35,582 crore. The company reported a pre-tax loss of ₹1,623 crore from continuing operations, influenced by exceptional charges including costs related to a cyber incident and employee separation.
JLR faced significant pressures, with full-year revenue dropping 20.9% and its EBIT margin collapsing to 0.7%. Negative free cash flow for JLR was £2.2 billion. In contrast, the domestic passenger vehicle division was a highlight, posting ₹58,465 crore in revenue, a 20.7% rise, with record annual sales exceeding 6.4 lakh units and EV volumes growing 43%.
The board recommended a final dividend of ₹3 per share, subject to shareholder approval at the AGM on July 8, 2026. TMPVL shares closed at ₹338.75 on May 14, 2026, reflecting a substantial year-on-year decrease.
