Tamworth's new Town Hall Place retail hub is preparing to open its doors, featuring seven units designed to provide affordable space for independent businesses. This initiative is a key component of a larger, multimillion-pound regeneration project that has already seen the establishment of a new college and an enhanced town square.
Among the first wave of businesses to launch are a unique food market specializing in African and Caribbean ingredients, a creative ceramics and crafts studio, a traditional haberdashery, and a cafe focused on nutritious food and beverages. These ventures are slated to begin operations later this month or in February.
Council leader Carol Dean emphasized that the project's goal extends beyond simply filling spaces, aiming instead to attract businesses that significantly contribute to the town's appeal and draw new visitors. Expressions of interest for the remaining units are still being accepted.
