A company specializing in products for surgery and satellites has been penalized with a £27,200 fine for endangering its employees. The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) identified serious risks to workers at Tracel Ltd's facility in Great Gransden, Cambridgeshire.
Inspectors discovered that inadequate management of metalworking fluids on cutting machinery exposed staff to potential lung diseases. This serious lapse in safety protocols led to the substantial fine and an additional order to pay £30,000 in costs.
Tracel Ltd, which also operates under the name The Engineering Quest and has a base in Milton Keynes, faced these consequences at Luton Magistrates' Court. The company has been approached for comment regarding the safety violations.
