Supermicro AI Server Boom Quadruples Sales
4 Nov
Summary
- Net sales surged to $19.95 billion, nearly quadrupling year-over-year.
- Net income soared to $1.59 billion, exceeding Wall Street projections.
- Full-year fiscal 2027 sales forecast significantly raised to $72 billion-$82 billion.

Super Micro Computer Inc. (SMCI) experienced a dramatic increase in net sales, reaching $19.95 billion for the quarter ending September 30, a nearly fourfold increase from $5.02 billion in the same period last year. Net income also saw a significant rise, totaling $1.59 billion, which translated to $1.81 per share, surpassing analyst expectations.
The company's CEO, Charles Liang, attributed this success to the global shift towards AI and IT data center solutions, emphasizing faster deployment, superior uptime, and cost-effectiveness through key partnerships and expanded production capacity.
Despite the remarkable revenue growth, Supermicro noted that a single large data center customer represented 44% of its quarterly revenue, with two clients accounting for substantial accounts receivable. Management explained this concentration is a consequence of the massive scale of current AI infrastructure build-outs.
Looking ahead, Supermicro has aggressively raised its full-year fiscal 2027 sales forecast to $72 billion-$82 billion, an increase from its previous projection of $65 billion-$72 billion. The company also anticipates Q2 sales between $19.5 billion and $21.5 billion, with projected earnings per share between $1.66 and $1.90.
