STT Global Data Centres has acquired a 14,093 square metre land parcel in Navi Mumbai for ₹282 crore. This strategic purchase, which includes an existing 6,828 square metre built-up structure, signifies continued expansion in the data centre sector.
The transaction, registered on May 22, 2026, took place in the TTC Industrial Area, MIDC, Village Khairane. STT Global Data Centres, which already operates three facilities in Navi Mumbai, is expanding its footprint to meet growing demand.
India's data centre market is experiencing a significant growth phase. The Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR) alone accounts for nearly 47% of the nation's total live IT capacity, reaching 766.6 MW by the end of 2025. Projections indicate this capacity could reach 866 MW by 2027.
This expansion is driven by MMR's position as India's financial capital, its robust fibre network, and subsea cable landings. Navi Mumbai has become a prime corridor for data centre development, attracting substantial land banking by operators aiming to support hyperscale deployments.
