Stoke-on-Trent is launching the Pride in Place Impact Fund, investing £1.5 million to improve local neighborhoods and strengthen community bonds. This initiative, spearheaded by Stoke-on-Trent City Council, will support physical improvements such as renovating community buildings, enhancing parks and playgrounds, and beautifying public spaces with art and amenities.
Residents, community organizations, charities, and local businesses are invited to submit project nominations by March 1st. A select panel comprising community representatives, MPs, and councillors will determine the allocation of funds. Council leader Jane Ashworth stated the funding will yield rapid, visible enhancements, boosting local pride and laying groundwork for future investment.
The government announced in 2025 that Stoke-on-Trent would be among 95 areas to receive this funding. The program is scheduled to run until March 2027, with projects to be selected and implemented in stages. This investment precedes a larger £40 million government funding injection designated for specific areas within Stoke-on-Trent.
