Summary
- Under Armour and Stephen Curry end 13-year partnership
- Curry Brand to operate independently, seek new retail partner
- Under Armour CEO cites "discipline and focus on the core UA brand"

On November 10th, 2022, Under Armour and NBA superstar Stephen Curry announced they have mutually agreed to end their 13-year partnership, effective immediately. The sudden split separates Curry Brand, the basketball-focused line of shoes and apparel, from Under Armour.
Curry will now maintain sole ownership of Curry Brand and is free to find another retail partner. Under Armour will release the final Curry Brand shoe, the Curry 13, in February 2023.
Under Armour CEO Kevin Plank stated that this moment is "about discipline and focus on the core UA brand during a critical stage of our turnaround." For Curry, it's "the right moment to let what we created evolve on his terms." The basketball icon expressed excitement for the future, saying his "commitment to that mission will never change, it's only growing stronger."
The breakup comes at a challenging time for Under Armour, which has seen declining sales for eight consecutive quarters. Plank is working to redefine the brand and regain its footing in the highly competitive sportswear market. The departure of one of the company's most successful and recognizable athletes is a significant development.
