SpaceX is venturing into physical retail with the opening of its first Starlink shop in Gretna, Nebraska. Reports indicate a second location may be at the Empire Mall in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. This expansion into brick-and-mortar sales follows a recent job listing for a Starlink Store Manager and aggressive promotions aimed at increasing subscriber numbers.
The satellite internet service, which boasts over 2 million active users in the US, is also expanding its reach through government subsidies for underserved areas and direct-to-phone connectivity via T-Mobile and Boost Mobile.
This retail initiative coincides with SpaceX selling Starlink accessories on Amazon, even as Amazon prepares to launch its own competing satellite internet service.
