27 Jun
Summary
- Online booking system significantly increased daily Rahu-Ketu puja attendees.
- Daily attendance for special pujas rose from 2,500 to 4,000 devotees.
- Improved system also helped curb black marketing of tickets.

The Sri Kalahasteeswara Swamy Devasthanams in Srikalahasti has reported a significant rise in the number of devotees booking Rahu-Ketu Sarpadosha Nivarana Pujas. This surge follows the implementation of stringent reforms and an improved online booking system for Darshan and seva tickets.
Previously, an average of 2,500 devotees performed these pujas daily. Since the introduction of online booking platforms, including WhatsApp, the daily number has climbed to 4,000. Temple officials noted that this digital transformation has made booking easier for pilgrims and significantly reduced ticket black marketing.
Data from January to May this year shows a clear upward trend. For instance, March saw 1,14,310 devotees participating, with May recording 1,24,511. Temple leaders believe the increased revenue generated from these pujas will be reinvested into enhancing pilgrim amenities and infrastructure, thereby improving the overall visitor experience at the temple, often referred to as Dakshina Kashi.
