South Korea's Economy Shrinks Mildly in Q4 2025

South Korea's economic performance in the final quarter of 2025 showed a slight contraction, according to revised central bank data released on Tuesday, March 10, 2026. The gross domestic product experienced a 0.2% decrease on a seasonally adjusted basis. This contraction follows a stronger performance in the previous quarter, when GDP increased by 1.3%. The revised figures indicate that the fourth quarter of 2025 represented the weakest economic performance for the nation since the first quarter of the same year. On an annual basis, Asia's fourth-largest economy achieved a growth of 1.6% in the fourth quarter of 2025. This annual figure was a slight improvement from the previously estimated 1.5% rise and followed a 1.8% growth recorded in the third quarter.
