Sona Comstar Revenue Soars, Profit Dips Amid Costs
23 Jan
Summary
- Revenue surged 38.2% to ₹1199 crore, driven by EV and conventional segments.
- Net profit saw a marginal 0.3% dip to ₹150.7 crore due to margin pressure.
- A one-time ₹40 crore labour code adjustment impacted quarterly results.

Sona BLW Precision Forgings Ltd (Sona Comstar) reported a significant 38.2% year-on-year increase in revenue for the December quarter of FY26, reaching ₹1199 crore. This robust topline performance was primarily fueled by higher volumes in both electric vehicle (EV) and conventional mobility segments, complemented by the consolidation of recently acquired businesses.
Despite the strong revenue growth, consolidated net profit saw a marginal decline of 0.3% to ₹150.7 crore compared to the same period last year. This dip in profitability was influenced by a sharp decrease in other income and a one-time labour code adjustment amounting to ₹40 crore.
The company's EV business was a key growth driver, recording a 38% year-on-year revenue increase. Traction motors, driveline, and differential assemblies performed particularly well. The driveline and differential segment continued to be the largest revenue contributor, while EV traction motors experienced high double-digit growth on new program ramp-ups.
