The Shri Kshethra Dharmasthala Rural Development Project (SKDRDP) BC Trust has been honored with the Elaben Memorial Award for Best Women-Friendly Financial Institution for 2025-26. This national-level award was presented in New Delhi, celebrating SKDRDP's commitment to its women employees.
The organization prioritizes a safe workplace and equal opportunities for professional development. A significant majority, around 29,000 of its 41,000 employees, are women. SKDRDP equips them with modern technology and continuous training, ensuring their skills remain current.
Policies at SKDRDP also facilitate transfers based on family needs and maintain transparent promotion procedures. These initiatives underscore their dedication to gender equality and employee well-being. The project has also facilitated low-interest loans for approximately 42 lakh women, fostering financial independence.
Under the guidance of Mathrushree Hemavathi V Heggade, SKDRDP's Jnanavikasa centres have supported holistic development for over 3.29 lakh members. This award acknowledges the project's substantial contributions to women's empowerment within the financial sector.
