Summary
- Shell signed 5 new agreements for oil and gas projects.
- Main prize is Loran gas field with about 7 Tcf reserves.
- Venezuela aims to export offshore gas to global markets.

Shell is deepening its involvement in Venezuela's energy revival, having recently entered into five new agreements with the government. These pacts are set to advance critical oil and gas projects within the nation. Central to these new ventures is the immense Loran offshore gas field, which boasts approximately 7 trillion cubic feet of reserves.
Additionally, Shell is already participating in the Dragon gas project, holding around 4.2 trillion cubic feet of gas. If these initiatives progress as planned, Venezuela could soon begin exporting offshore gas to Trinidad. There, the gas would undergo processing into Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) for sale on international markets. This strategic move signifies a major shift for Venezuela, a country rich in resources but previously hindered by years of political and operational challenges. Shell stands out as one of the few major foreign energy firms actively investing as the Venezuelan government opens its doors to increased foreign participation.
