RPSG Group's Saregama India has announced a significant investment, acquiring a 28% stake in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Bhansali Productions Private Limited (BPPL) for Rs 325 crore. This initial acquisition holds the potential for Saregama to expand its ownership to 51% by March 31, 2030, marking a major strategic alliance in the Indian entertainment sector.
The collaboration aims to leverage Bhansali Productions' acclaimed storytelling prowess with Saregama's established dominance in music and live events. This union is poised to develop a next-generation media and entertainment entity, enhancing Bhansali Productions' capacity to produce content and scale its operations while retaining intellectual property rights.
