B&B Sanitation's owner, Betty Burgess, has issued an apology to over 2,400 customers following weeks of missed trash pickups. The service disruptions began last month when both of the company's sanitation trucks simultaneously broke down. This mechanical failure led to a period where the entire customer base experienced uncollected trash, causing significant frustration and customer loss.
Burgess acknowledged the challenges, including fielding thousands of calls and texts while attempting to manage the situation. The business has reportedly lost between 300 and 400 customers and is currently handling approximately $10,000 in customer disputes. Some customers, like Indida Birto, reported ongoing delays as recently as Friday, expressing a need for honest estimates and timelines.
Looking ahead, Burgess stated that both sanitation trucks are anticipated to be back in service by Monday, which should allow operations to return to normal. In the interim, she is personally following up with every customer, offering owed credits and seeking an opportunity to rectify the service issues and rebuild customer trust.
