Summary
- Renters may receive a share of a $359 million class-action settlement.
- The settlement involves allegations of inflated apartment rents via software.
- Claims must be submitted by January 29, 2027, for eligibility.

San Antonio renters may soon be eligible for a portion of a proposed $359 million class-action settlement. This settlement addresses allegations that property managers and owners colluded to artificially inflate apartment rents through the use of property management software.
A federal judge in Tennessee has granted preliminary approval. Several companies that managed properties in the San Antonio area during the relevant period are named defendants. These include Allied Orion Group, Avenue5 Residential, Cortland Management, and Greystar Management Services, among others.
Eligibility for compensation depends on whether a renter's specific property utilized RealPage's rental-pricing software between October 18, 2018, and November 21, 2025. Renters are encouraged to use an online tool to verify their property's inclusion.
All eligible renters who file a valid claim after final approval could receive funds, after legal fees and expenses. The deadline to submit claims is January 29, 2027. More details are available on RealPageRentalSettlement.com.
