New Live Business News Network Targets Mobile Generation

Sammi Cohen, known for her popular business, tech, and culture podcast, is set to launch a new venture called Social Commerce Network (SCN). This digital-first business news network will broadcast live across multiple platforms including YouTube, X, TikTok, and Instagram. SCN is scheduled to begin broadcasting three times per week, on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Pacific time.

The show's format will feature a mix of current events and interviews with prominent figures in consumer businesses, tech, fintech, retail, CPG, beauty, and the creator economy. Cohen will co-host SCN with Alaina Hartley, a former principal at VC firm Greycroft. The network aims to serve a younger demographic, described by Cohen as the 'generation that gets their news on their phone.'

SCN will officially launch on October 6th from a new studio in Los Angeles' Sawtelle neighborhood. Cohen plans to continue her existing weekly podcast, 'Social Currency,' alongside the thrice-weekly SCN broadcasts. She has secured several sponsors for the launch year across various industries, emphasizing their role as partners in the show's development.

Cohen views the current media landscape as ripe for innovation, citing a public yearning for authentic, human connection in an increasingly automated world. SCN intends to incorporate live viewer feedback and questions, reinforcing its interactive and responsive approach to news delivery. The venture also reflects a growing trend of creators building their own media businesses.
