13 Jan
Summary
- Saab will produce new submarines at multiple plants to meet Poland's order.
- Poland selected Saab for a multi-billion dollar deal to buy three submarines.
- The first submarine for Poland is slated for delivery in 2030.

Swedish defense company Saab will expand its manufacturing capabilities by parallelizing production across multiple plants to ensure timely delivery of submarines to Poland. This strategic move is in response to Poland's decision to acquire three advanced submarines in a multi-billion dollar contract, enhancing its naval defenses in the Baltic Sea.
CEO Micael Johansson announced that Saab has made significant investments to enable the production of submarine sections at various locations, including the plant in Landskrona. This parallel production approach is designed to increase capacity and meet the ambitious delivery targets set by Poland, with the first submarine expected by 2030.
Further bolstering the agreement, Saab will also provide maintenance, upgrades, and annual checks for the submarines at a shipyard in Poland, complementing services offered in Sweden. This ensures comprehensive support throughout the vessels' operational life, demonstrating a strong commitment to the Polish defense partnership.
