Summary
- Corporate RTP transaction volume grew 48% from January to July.
- Transactions over $1 million saw a 351% increase.
- Higher transaction limits enable new uses for real-time payments.

Bank of America's corporate clients are demonstrating a strong demand for real-time payments, significantly increasing their use of the RTP® network. Between January and July of 2026, overall corporate transaction volume on the RTP network saw a substantial 48% increase compared to the previous year.
This surge is particularly pronounced for higher-value transactions. The number of corporate payments exceeding $1 million on the RTP network has exploded by 351%. This growth is directly linked to the RTP network's decision in February 2025 to raise its individual transaction limit from $1 million to $10 million.
The enhanced transaction limit is facilitating strategic use cases. Corporate treasury teams are now utilizing the RTP network's 24/7 availability for critical functions such as liquidity management, intercompany transfers, and other time-sensitive business payments. This allows for more precise repositioning of funds, even outside standard business hours, improving visibility and control over cash flow.
This increased adoption reflects a broader corporate demand for payment solutions that combine speed with enhanced transparency and control. The flexibility offered by the RTP network enables companies to manage their finances more dynamically, supporting business continuity and optimizing fund deployment.
