Summary
- RTL reported a 3.8% revenue drop to €6.018 billion for the full fiscal year.
- Streaming revenue jumped 26.3% driven by more subscribers and higher prices.
- Fremantle's revenue declined 9.4% primarily due to entertainment business performance.

RTL Group reported a 3.8% year-on-year decrease in revenues, totaling €6.018 billion for the full fiscal year 2024. Despite challenging market conditions, the company's adjusted EBITDA reached €661 million, with total group profit rising to €1.03 billion, significantly boosted by the sale of RTL Nederland. The strategic shift towards streaming proved successful, with streaming revenue surging by 26.3% to €509 million. This growth was attributed to a substantial increase in paying subscribers, higher subscription fees in Germany, and robust advertising income on RTL+ and M6+ platforms.
The company is further solidifying its streaming ambitions with the planned acquisition of pay-TV service Sky Germany, expected to finalize in the first half of 2026 pending regulatory review. Partnerships with major players like Deutsche Telekom, Amazon, and Warner Bros. Discovery have also been expanded.
Conversely, RTL's content business, Fremantle, saw a 9.4% revenue decline, amounting to €2,043 million. This downturn was primarily linked to reduced revenue from its entertainment division, particularly in the U.S. and U.K. markets. The previous year had seen a boost from NBC's "America's Got Talent" spinoff "Fantasy League." Despite this, Fremantle celebrated successes in 2025, including Oscar nominations for "Bugonia" and high-profile productions for streaming platforms.
