The Hyderabad Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission-II found the complaint to be false, frivolous, and vexatious. The commission identified the complainant as an 'habitual litigant' who had filed numerous complaints without sufficient evidence. The retailer stated the bag was an optional purchase, and charges were clearly displayed.
As a result, the complaint was dismissed. The complainant must pay Rs 5,000 to the retailer and Rs 5,000 to the Consumer Welfare Fund. This case underscores that consumer forums require evidence of deficiency in service or unfair trade practices, and can impose costs on unwarranted claims.
