Summary
- New Duster arrives with rugged design and modern tech upgrades.
- It boasts the most powerful engine in its segment at 160.7 bhp.
- Features include Google built-in, ADAS, and up to 7-year warranty.

The Renault Duster has made a significant comeback in India, entering a fiercely competitive SUV market. It initially pioneered the accessible monocoque SUV segment upon its debut in July 2012, selling nearly 40,000 units in its first year.
The redesigned Duster now features a bold, rugged exterior with Y-shaped LED DRLs and distinctive styling cues, reflecting its utilitarian heritage. Inside, the cabin has been modernized with a layered dashboard, enhanced seating comfort, and ample boot space, though some hard plastics are noticeable.
Under the hood, the 1.3-litre turbo-petrol engine produces 160.7 bhp, the highest in its segment, paired with a 6-speed manual or DCT automatic transmission. While turbo lag is present below 2000 rpm, the engine delivers strong performance once in its stride.
Technology is a key focus, with the OpenR multimedia system offering native Google built-in features like Maps and Assistant. Top variants include a 360-degree camera, dual-zone climate control, and importantly, Level 2 ADAS, a first for Renault in India.
Renault is backing the new Duster with a competitive warranty of up to 7 years or 150,000 km. Priced between ₹10.49 lakh and ₹18.49 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), the Duster aims to offer a distinct identity in a crowded segment.
