Reliance Retail Buys Priyanka Chopra's Vegan Hair Brand Anomaly

Reliance Retail has acquired Anomaly, the haircare brand established by actor and entrepreneur Priyanka Chopra Jonas. This move signifies Reliance Retail's strategic expansion within the beauty and personal care market.

The acquisition encompasses Anomaly's trademarks, brand assets, and digital properties, ensuring Reliance Retail gains complete ownership of the brand's intellectual property and its digital ecosystem.

Anomaly, founded in 2021, is recognized for its clean, vegan haircare products, emphasizing performance and affordability. The brand has already established a presence in markets like North America and the United Kingdom.

Reliance Retail intends to significantly scale Anomaly by utilizing its extensive physical retail network and its digital commerce platforms, including its beauty-focused Tira platform. India is a primary focus, with plans for product development tailored to local hair and scalp needs.

Simultaneously, Reliance Retail aims to continue expanding Anomaly's reach in international markets such as North America, the UK, and the Middle East. Priyanka Chopra Jonas will continue her involvement as the brand's creative director, overseeing its vision and product innovation.

This acquisition aligns with Reliance Retail's broader strategy of building and growing consumer brands in high-growth categories. The company seeks to combine global brand equity with robust domestic retail scale and omnichannel distribution capabilities. Reliance Retail Ventures Ltd (RRVL), a subsidiary of Reliance Industries Ltd, reported a consolidated turnover of ₹3,70,026 crore and EBITDA of ₹27,033 crore as of March 31, 2026.
