Rajasthan Gas Network Expands: 20,000 New PNG Connections Coming

Rajasthan's Additional Chief Secretary (Mines & Petroleum), Aparna Arora, has mandated city gas distribution companies to release 20,000 new domestic piped natural gas (PNG) connections by the close of September. This directive emphasizes a broader focus on connecting industrial and commercial establishments, thereby accelerating the adoption of clean energy sources throughout the state.
During the preceding two months, CGD firms successfully connected 21,240 households and 240 industrial and commercial units to the PNG network. Cumulatively, 1.75 lakh families and 1,553 establishments across Rajasthan are now integrated into this cleaner energy infrastructure.
Arora further urged companies to forge retail partnerships with oil marketing firms and enhance infrastructure by implementing decompression units and LNG-based systems. A key objective is to educate households about the benefits of transitioning from LPG to PNG, highlighting its 24x7 availability, elimination of booking hassles, and improved safety features. Priority is also being given to government quarters in specific Jaipur areas.
