Electric vehicle maker Polestar announced a 7% increase in first-quarter sales volume, delivering 13,126 vehicles. This performance was significantly driven by the company's strategic pivot towards the European market over the past year, a move designed to enhance margins and revenue.
The company's CEO highlighted strong performance in key markets including Germany, Sweden, the UK, South Korea, and Australia. To sustain this momentum and attract buyers, Polestar plans to introduce refreshed versions of its Polestar 2 sedan and Polestar 4 SUV within the next year.
Polestar is also contending with challenges such as American import tariffs, which have impacted margins and necessitated supply chain adjustments, including shifting production to the United States. The automaker continues to leverage resources and funding from its majority owner, Geely Holding, a common strategy in the competitive EV sector.
The company anticipates expanding its sales network to approximately 250 locations by the end of 2026, representing a 20% growth from the close of 2025.
