Pex, a business-to-business spend management platform, announced on Tuesday that it has raised $160 million in financing. The investment, a combination of debt and equity from private equity firm Bluff Point Associates, is intended to bolster Pex's commercial card and spend-management offerings.
The company plans to utilize these funds to drive product innovation and invest in its sales and strategic growth initiatives. Pex's founder and CEO, Toffer Grant, stated that the company's mission is to democratize access to sophisticated financial tools, which have historically been exclusive to large corporations.
Pex is building an integrated, all-in-one platform that combines payments, credit, spend management, and financial automation. This approach addresses a growing customer demand for consolidated financial solutions over fragmented tools. Since its inception in 2009, Pex has managed approximately $11.7 billion in corporate spending and currently serves around 10,000 customers.
