Summary
- A new $28 million building combines Pennsauken's municipal offices and library.
- The combined facility offers significantly more space for both services.
- A new inclusive playground, Jake's Place, also opened nearby.

Pennsauken, New Jersey, has inaugurated a new $28 million, approximately 54,500-square-foot facility that merges the township's municipal building and library. This significant development provides a "one-stop shop" for residents, addressing long-standing space and accessibility issues.
The former library, over 50 years old, was demolished to make way for parking at the new site, while the 1957 municipal building is slated for redevelopment. The modern three-story structure offers municipal offices nearly double the previous square footage and a library that is also significantly larger, now featuring dedicated youth spaces and a computer lab.
The project, first envisioned in 2018, saw a breakthrough in 2020 with $9.3 million in state funding, with the remainder financed by the township. Despite pandemic delays and contractor disputes, the facility, along with the new Jake's Place all-inclusive playground, celebrated its opening, with the library already reporting a substantial increase in new cardholders.
