Plans to transform the Badi Patan Devi temple in Patna City into a prominent tourist destination have been significantly curtailed due to insurmountable technical constraints. The Bihar State Tourism Development Corporation Limited (BSTDC), which is executing the project, has had to scale back the development significantly.

Initially, a comprehensive proposal from 2024 included features like two multi-level parking facilities, a nearly 2-km circumambulatory path, and grand entrance gates. However, issues with land availability and the dense urban setting led to the abandonment of this ambitious vision. The project cost, once approved at Rs7.8 crore, has been revised downwards to approximately Rs1 crore.
